Arctic Ale
This historic (mythical?!) beer was specifically crafted to support sailors who ventured into the Arctic in 1852 to rescue a crew trapped in the ice. (Yes, really—no joke!)
It’s strong, with a high residual sugar content that prevents it from freezing except at extreme temperatures.
It undergoes a passage in puncheon barrels with Brettanomyces, but even that only slightly dries it out.
The result is a very dark, very malty, lightly bitter, and oaky Old Burton.
Aging potential: 4 years
Ideal serving temperature: 10–12°C
250 mL
