Nouvelle-Joutel

About 25 years ago, Joutel closed its doors on September 1, 1998. Today, all that remains are old sidewalks and a few foundations at the site of this village located in Nord-du-Québec, about 80 kilometers southwest of Matagami.

With this New Zealand-inspired Pilsner, to which a “hop stand” was added, we honor this ghost town. As nature slowly erases the remnants of this mining village, the memories remain very much alive.

The hops selected for this beer, Nectaron and Nelson Sauvin, offer fruity and herbal notes along with a sharp bitterness. A good malty-tasting beer to evoke the past.
