Horizons Communs

Neo-Grisette with Fonio and rice flakes + jasmine tea and cloves

We’ll let Les Coureurs des Boires tell the story of this wonderful collaboration:

“The joy of collaboration often lies in exploring and pushing beyond the boundaries of what we know how to do. Horizons Communs was brewed with exactly that spirit in mind.

A conversation between 5e Baron and Martin Thibault—a beer traveller and writer behind several books, articles, and the Les Coureurs des Boires project—led to a one-of-a-kind, gastronomic beer with a distinctly global perspective.

Fonio, an ancient West African grain, brings depth and complexity to a grain bill otherwise inspired by the classic Grisette style.

Jasmine blossoms and mint evoke the fragrant infusions of North African cuisine.

Clove offers a subtle nod to Creole cooking.

Québec-grown hops (Triple Perle and El Dorado) contribute delicate floral and vibrant fruity notes.

Norwegian Voss kveik yeast ferments the beer at high temperatures, adding hints of orange marmalade.

Naturally bottle-conditioned, of course.

The result is a beer that is light yet intriguing, aromatic yet refreshing—one that reminds us with every sip that, despite our different origins, we all share common horizons: coming together to enjoy good company around a table, a bottle, and a great meal.”
