- Tongerlo Brune
Tongerlo Brune
Tongerlo Brown is an authentic Belgian abbey beer.
NOX, the Latin word for “night,” refers to its deep, warm brown color.
This subtle dubbel releases delicate hints of vanilla, complemented by the gentle bitterness of dark chocolate, beautifully showcased throughout.
Lovers of fine brown ales will instantly recognize its perfectly balanced flavor nuances, while those trying a brown beer for the first time will find it a true revelation.
Appearance: Brown color with a creamy white head.
Palate: A sweet attack with notes of vanilla and baked banana. The finish is marked by roasted bitterness and melted chocolate flavors.
Bottle Refermentation: The refermentation process in the bottle is meticulous. The right amount of cultured yeast is added before bottling. Once bottled, the beer is stored for about two weeks in a warm room at 22°C. Only after this period can the beer fully express its rich palette of flavors. The result: intense aromas of flowers, fruits, and spices. Beers refermented in the bottle are crafted with the utmost care and require true brewing expertise. This method also enhances preservation (up to 18 months).
Flavor Evolution: Like wine, the flavor of a bottle-conditioned beer evolves and softens over time. To allow you to follow the taste evolution of Tongerlo Brune, the bottling date is printed on the back label. This way, you can decide when the beer has reached full maturity according to your preference.
