De la Soif et de l'Amitié
For a third year, Les Grands Bois brought together 4 breweries that share their same passion for easy-drinking beers.
From Ontario to the Laurentians, we gathered in Saint-Casimir in the spirit of thirst and friendship to create a 4-pack that will appeal just as much to lager lovers as it will to anyone looking for a great 4-pack to enjoy in a park!
HERMAN - German-Czech Lager / 3.8%
We present a lager inspired by both Germany and the Czech Republic.
The Bohemian malt, brewed using a decoction method, provides a smooth texture that is perfect for its low alcohol content. Two hops are used: the iconic Czech Saaz, renowned for its herbal and spicy aromatic profile, and Diamant, a modern German variety characterized by spicy and citrus notes.
The yeast comes from Augustiner, a renowned Munich brewery!
SONNEN HILL - Kölsch / 5.2%
We present a dry-hopped Kölsch to add a touch of modernity to this traditional style.
It’s as if a brewer from Cologne took a little trip to Italy.
A beautiful grain base, a yeast profile similar to our Poincaré Kölsch, and well-supported by a dry hopping of the Hersbrucker variety for a floral touch!
ANDRÉ TRUDEL - Bavarian Pilsner / 5%
We present a Bavarian-inspired Pilsner, a style we cherish!
This one stands out with a vibrant hopping that develops a clean, crisp bitterness typical of the style.
André really challenged us to use more hops during the boil than at the end, and we are thrilled to have broken our habits!
It is also the first beer brewed here to be filtered to remove suspended yeast and make it ultra-clear.
TRUE HISTORY - Helles / 5%
We present a Helles, a classic style from the Munich region.
True History's Helles is probably the best representation of the style in the country, and we are happy to share this co-creation with you!
What is a Helles?
A pale lager in all its simplicity (yet complex at the same time).
Brewed by decoction with a malt variety we are using for the first time—these will be your new favorite cereals!
A subtle dose of Mittelfrüh hops to balance things out—a small dose, not too much, just enough, but not a lot, just what it takes!
The fermentation profile will transport you straight to the Andechs Monastery, a mythical brewery near Munich.
