But behind its radiant notes lies a deeper reflection on the 67 nuclear tests that scarred this atoll.

Between 1946 and 1958, these detonations – including the infamous Castle Bravo H-bomb – forever altered the archipelago, erasing three islands from the map and leaving an indelible mark on history.
