La Pimenterie - Sauce Barbacoa

Barbacoa comes from Arawak, the language of the Taíno, a Caribbean people. It originally refers to the slow cooking of meat over a fire.

The word made its way to Mexico and then to the United States via Texas, where it evolved into "Barbecue".

Barbacoa is a Tex-Mex style BBQ sauce, sweet, tangy, and slightly spicy thanks to an aromatic blend of dried Mexican chilies. A crowd-pleasing sauce for all kinds of grilled dishes!
